Pilgrim Online
Pilgrim Online offers a flexible, ecumenical, world-class standard of theological distance education for students online. You can gain tertiary qualifications wherever you live.
Our online programs are best described as accompanied distance learning, because they put students in constant touch with their teachers and peers.
What makes us different from most other theological institutions is that teachers and students from many traditions, cultures and countries are found in the same online classes.
All online theology courses are taught through the College and awarded by the University of Divinity. A number of the online units are taught by Whitley College and Saint Athanasius Coptic Orthodox Theological College.
Why study Pilgrim Online
Students undertake courses in Pilgrim Online for a wide range of reasons.
Some aspire to seek ordination in their denomination; others are looking to understand their faith more as they serve the church through lay ministry; others again are not necessarily members of any church or faith centre and simply wish to study theology for their own interests.
Undertaking a theology course through Pilgrim Online can be attractive for:
- busy professionals
- those living large distances from theological centres
- those suffering from illnesses or other constraints that prevent their attendance in classes
- prospective ordination candidates who wish to explore theology while they continue in their employment
- active Christian lay people who wish to increase their knowledge of the faith
- individuals who wish to further their qualifications in theology for professional reasons
- individuals who wish to avail themselves of the world-class standards of theological study offered at Pilgrim Theological College.
