Scott Morrison Book - Faculty in the media

Robyn Whitaker, Associate Professor of New Testament, writes about former Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s new book Plans for Your Good: A Prime Minister’s Testimony of God’s Faithfulness. Whitaker unpacks the operative theology of Morrison in the way he talks about the role faith and God have played in his life, including his political life.

She writes: “While this book offers a moving testimony of Morrison’s personal faith, I was left disturbed by the lack of acknowledgement of the power he wielded as a federal politician and, later, as Prime Minister. Morrison wants readers to know that God has a plan for them and that following that plan will lead to a life of purpose and meaning. But this is at best half the Christian message. To put it bluntly: Morrison’s God is too small.”
