Appointment of New Testament Lecturer: Rev. Dr. Sally Douglas
Pilgrim Theological College is delighted to announce that the Reverend Dr Sally Douglas has been appointed as Lecturer in New Testament (0.5). Sally brings significant experience and expertise to the Pilgrim community. She is a biblical scholar, theologian, associate lecturer, and writer who is already known to many in our community. Her PhD, from the University of Divinity, used an interdisciplinary approach to examine the christology of Jesus in the New Testament and other early Christian texts. She is author of multiple articles in addition to her books: Early Church Understandings of Jesus as the Female Divine, The Church as Salt, and Jesus Sophia.
In addition to her scholarly work, Sally regularly writes for popular audiences, co-hosts By the Well podcast, and is an ordained UCA minister currently in placement at Richmond Uniting Church where she has worked in the mode of ‘scholar pastor’ for many years. She is deeply committed to contemplative prayer and has led retreats and reflections based on those traditions. You can learn more about Sally at https://www.sallydouglas.net/about
Sally will begin her new role at Pilgrim in late March 2024. Please hold Sally and the congregation at Richmond in your prayers during this time of transition.
