ANZATS Conference a highlight of the 2016 Pilgrim calendar

The University of Divinity has released details of the 2016 academic year.

Semester One will run from 22 February to 27 May, with a non-teaching period for Easter being 21 March to 1 April. Study week is 30 May to 3 June, with a highlight of study week being the university’s annual Research Day on 1 June. Research Day will once again be held at the College. Exam week is 6 June to 10 June, with semester one results due for release on Friday, 8 July.

Second semester runs from 25 July to 28 October. Mid-semester break is scheduled for 19 to 30 September, while study week has been set down for 31 October to 4 November. Exam week is 7 to 11 November and results will be published Friday, 9 December.

In 2016 we’ll also be co-hosting the 2016 Australian and New Zealand Association of Theological Schools (ANZATS) Conference alongside our friends from Trinity. The conference will run from Sunday, 3 July to Wednesday, 6 July with a theme of ‘The Atonement’.

The conference’s keynote speaker is Rev Dr Serene Jones. Professor Jones is the 16th President of’Union Theological Seminary in New York, and the first female to hold that position. Professor Jones was appointed President of Union after 17 years teaching at Yale University. In 2016, Professor Jones will be the President of the American Academy of Religion.
